Hanoi-Portuguese Short Film Exhibition @ DeN

From the organizer: DeN is very happy and proud to receive and announce this new short film exhibition at its venue.

The films are directed by young Portuguese filmmakers, not forgetting to mention its origin in which is directly connected and supported by the Arte Institute, a non-profit organization in New York based, that promotes culture and showcases art from Portugal. It is a space that offers a creative environment for Portuguese artists in the field of art, literature, music, dance and film.

A part of that, the Arte Institute created a shortfilm festival called NY Portuguese Short Film Festival (NYPSFF).

So, the first ever NY Portuguese Short Film Festival (NYPSFF) in the United States premiered in New York and simultaneously in Lisbon on June 2011. The festival was produced and hosted by Arte Institute. Since 2012, the annual NYPSFF has taken place at Tribeca Cinemas in New York and in Lisbon. It was the first time that a short film festival involving Portuguese cinema and connecting two cities, New York and Lisbon, at the same time, ever happened in the United States. The two days Festival consists of the screening of short films produced in Portugal and abroad by Portuguese filmmakers. After the success of the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival in New York and Lisbon, Arte Institute took the NYPSFF to Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Brasilia, London, Luanda, and actually far more than 22 countries and about 40 cities worldwide.

In this 3 sessions, 8 short films will be shown in each planned date, from the 2nd and 3rd editions taken place in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

A big thanks to the Arte Institute that was kind enough to give away the movies for this showcase.
