FLC Proposes 100,000-Seat Stadium, F1 Track, Zoo, Theme Park, Golf Course in Hanoi Complex

Last November it was officially confirmed that Hanoi will host Vietnam’s first-ever Formula One race. With their latest proposal, FLC Group is taking development plans in the capital to a whole new level.

The conglomerate has submitted a proposal to Hanoi authorities for the construction of a billion-dollar sports and entertainment complex in the capital.

According to VnExpress, the 2,000-hectare area will feature not only a stadium and Formula One circuit, but also a golf course, five-star hotels, an international conference center, a financial center, an international summer camp for children, a horse racecourse, a zoo, a theme park, a central square and an outlet center.

The company’s vice chairman, Le Thanh Vinh, however, suggested to the news source that the central focus of the project would be a 100,000-seat stadium. At such a size, the venue would be among the world’s largest, with the intention of it being used to host international events.

The initial phase of the project is estimated to cost around VND25 trillion (US$1.07 billion), with the development taking place in either Dong Anh, Me Linh or Soc Son District

If constructed, the stadium would be one of the 10 largest in the world. The biggest, in terms of capacity, is North Korea’s May Day Stadium, which can hold 150,000.
